Public Utility was founded to share the stories of artists and makers, build connections between them, and promote public art in Kent, Ohio. We believe that access to art is an important part of a thriving community, not because it is “useful” by standard definition, but because it provides necessary pathways to education, empathy, and understanding. In this way, art can be viewed as a public utility.
We support artists in Kent and believe they all have important stories to tell. We work to connect artists in our city to meaningful public art projects that will impact the whole community. Do you have thoughts, ideas, or suggestions for public arts in Kent, Ohio?
